It’s just like the old office, only bigger, cleaner and better finished (and with less stairs – all our current clients and suppliers breathe a sigh of relief …) There’s also a separate materials library and print room, so as well as looking better it also functions a lot better. We’re still in the same building, so you know where to find us, however we’ve dropped down to Level 3, so please update your records accordingly.

THE QUINLAN GROUP’S 10TH BIRTHDAY RETROSPECTIVE
So we made it. One hundred and seventy eight projects, forty five articles, twenty six staff, eighteen computers, seven printers, three company cars and one and a half GFC’s later, The Quinlan Group has turned 10. My sincere thanks and gratitude to our clients, consultants, builders, family and friends who have all assisted in helping us reach this milestone. I look forward to further solidifying our relationships over the coming decade.
After sorting through all 178 projects to put together the collage above, we sat down and picked out 2 images from each of the 10 years that we felt reflected the status of the office and our projects at that point in time. The final images cover everything from houses to masterplans; developments, retail, commercial, hospitality and interiors. Please click through the links to view our 20 from 10 retrospective.
nb. some of the included images were produced in collaboration with other architects and designers.
THE QUINLAN GROUP IN GRAND DESIGNS
Grand Design magazine has approached us to provide a four part series taking you through the different phases of the architectural process, from purchasing the site, to selecting an architect, negotiating the approval and documentation process and finally to managing the build. All four articles together should provide a solid foundation for negotiating the lengthy and complex process of bespoke house design. The first of the series can be found in the launch issue of Grand Design magazine, which is available in newsagents.
NEW CINEMA CONCEPT GOES TO SITE
This month saw Buildcorp start work on the new Toombul 8 Cinemas in Brisbane. This complex will see the implementation of new concepts in cinema retailing, including a variant on the self serve candy bar concept. Built construction also started work on the refurbishment of the Strathpine Cinema lobby, also in Queensland. Completion for both projects is scheduled for later this year.
NEW REGISTRATIONS, QUALIFICATIONS AND MEMBERSHIPS
On top of upgrading all eligible staff members to A+ membership of the Institute, we are also proud to confirm that Senior Associate Jonathan Spicer recently passed both his written assessments for registration with the NSW Board of Architects. Managing Director Justin Quinlan also recently received his Certificate IV in Building and Construction and The Quinlan Group is in the preliminary throws of attaining Green Star accreditation. This all translates to a higher level of service and expertise to our clients.
